The museum was opened in 1999, and by 2007 had been visited by more than one million people.〔(Dokumentation Obersalzberg, Annual Report 2008 (in German) )〕 ==Historic Site== Obersalzberg is located near Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany, close to the Austrian border. The museum is near the location where Adolf Hitler had his Berghof (Mountain House).
