Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg (''Obersalzberg Center of Documentation'') is a museum erected on the groundwork of the former Nazi guesthouse in order to provide historical information concerning the use of the Obersalzberg by Nazi leaders, especially Adolf Hitler who regularly vacationed in this area beginning in 1928. The museum was opened in 1999, and by 2007 had been visited by more than one million people.〔(Dokumentation Obersalzberg, Annual Report 2008 (in German) )〕 ==Historic Site== Obersalzberg is located near Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany, close to the Austrian border. The museum is near the location where Adolf Hitler had his Berghof (Mountain House). The museum building sits on the foundation of the Nazi Guesthouse, and there is also a link through a tunnel to the Nazi bunkers inside the Obersalzberg, constructed 1943-1945.
